Oakfield bed and breakfast is in the village of Llyswen, Brecon on the main A470, 50 miles from Cardiff.  It was built in 1914, set back from the main road in its own grounds and is of great character.

Mr & Mrs Phillips pride themselves on making their guests very welcome within their home for the duration of their stay.

The market towns of Brecon, Hay-on-Wye and Builth Wells are within easy and accessible travelling distance, panoramic views of the Black Mountains and Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons National Park is also within a short drive away.

For lovers of the country you will find all you need and more in this beautiful part of Wales.  If you are on the Wye Valley walk you will find this is a perfect place to stop over on your walking holiday through Wales. 

Brecon holds its world famous Jazz Festival in the month of August.  Hay-on-Wye is famous for its second hand books and in May holds it literature festival.  In the month of July Builth Wells hosts the Royal Welsh Show which is known all over the country.

If you enjoy outdoor pursuits then we have lots to tempt you with here, and in the local area canoeing along the river Wye with canoe hire available, pony trekking across the Brecon Beacons, or at Llangorse where you can enjoy Riding, Trekking and Hacking also indoor climbing activities suitable for families, children and the more experienced. 

On the shore of the lake at Llangorse you will find hire facilities for all sorts of water sports, fishing is also available on the lake.
